Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a small bowl, mix the light brown sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon to prepare the cinnamon swirl. Set aside.
In another bowl, combine the chopped apples, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon to create the apple mixture. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and softened butter until it’s light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter. Next, add half of the apple mixture and lightly press the apples into the batter.
Pour the remaining batter over the apples and spread it evenly. Top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture and apple mixture. Lightly swirl the top of the batter with a knife.
Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth to prepare the glaze. Drizzle this glaze over the cooled bread.
