  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk 110°F/45°C
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • n a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy. This shows that your yeast is working!
  • Add the melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix everything well.
  • Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it for about 8-10 minutes until it feels smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  • Once it has risen, punch down the dough gently. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
  • Place the balls on a greased baking sheet or in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover them and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
  • For a special touch, brush the warm rolls with melted butter right after baking!
